Thoughts on Xcel's recent restructuring news?

So, I saw that article about Xcel Energy reorganizing some of its operational divisions. While they framed it as 'streamlining for the future' and 'adapting to market changes', I can't help but feel a bit uneasy about what that really means for us on the ground. Reorganizations often precede headcount adjustments, and even if it's not outright layoffs, there's usually some impact. Has anyone in those affected divisions heard anything concrete? Are there talks of attrition or voluntary separation programs? I'm in a support role and usually feel pretty insulated, but this feels different. It's the uncertainty that's the worst part. Trying to prepare myself mentally and practically, but without any clear information, it's tough. Anyone have insights or similar experiences from past reorganizations at Xcel or other utilities?

I'm in one of the divisions mentioned and honestly, it's mostly radio silence so far. Management is giving the standard 'everything is fine, we're adapting' spiel. It's hard not to worry when you hear 'restructuring,' though. Hoping it's just corporate jargon and doesn't translate to job losses for good people.

This sounds like the same old song and dance. They talk about 'efficiency' and 'future-proofing,' but it usually means someone is going to lose their job or have their role drastically changed. I'm not in an affected area, but I'm keeping my resume updated just in case. It’s a tough market out there.
