Xcel Energy - Anyone Else Feeling the Pressure?

Hey everyone, been with Xcel for a few years now and lately the vibe feels... off. Not hearing any specific layoff rumors, but there's definitely been a lot of internal talk about 'efficiency' and 'streamlining.' My department's been tasked with some projects that feel like they're designed to identify redundancies, if you know what I mean. Performance reviews just wrapped up and honestly, mine was fine, but I saw some of my colleagues getting really mixed feedback, even those who are usually solid performers. It's creating a lot of anxiety. Anyone else picking up on this? Is it just the usual end-of-year jitters, or is something bigger brewing at Xcel? Trying not to stress, but it's hard when you see these subtle shifts happening all around. Curious to hear if others are experiencing similar things or if I'm just overthinking it.

Yeah, I've definitely picked up on that too. It's that unsettling feeling when the company starts talking about 'synergies' and 'optimization' in every all-hands meeting. It feels like a prelude to something, even if nothing concrete is being said. Just trying to keep my head down and focus on delivering solid work, but the underlying tension is hard to ignore.

Totally get where you're coming from. The 'efficiency' push has been palpable across several teams I interact with. Performance reviews can always be a bit of a mixed bag, but the timing with all this internal restructuring talk makes it feel more significant. Hopefully, it's just a standard business cycle and not a sign of bigger issues down the road.
