Xcel Energy - Anyone else notice hiring freeze signals?

Hey everyone, been at Xcel for a few years now and things feel a bit...off lately. Usually, we're pretty open about hiring plans and there are always roles popping up across different departments. But for the past month or two, it feels like the pipeline has completely dried up. New reqs are few and far between, and even the ones that are open seem to be stalled. Internal chatter is minimal, but I've heard whispers about budget reviews and 'strategic realignments.' Not explicitly layoffs, but it's definitely got me wondering if a hiring freeze is in effect or if something bigger is brewing. Anyone else in engineering, IT, or field ops seeing the same thing? Is this widespread, or am I just in a department that's suddenly less of a priority? Curious to hear what others are experiencing.

Yeah, I've noticed a definite slowdown in openings too. It's not just your department. Feels like a lot of roles that were actively being recruited for have suddenly gone quiet or been put on hold. Makes you wonder what's really going on behind the scenes. Hopefully, it's just a temporary pause and not something more serious.

Interesting you bring this up. I'm on the vendor side and we've definitely seen a lot of projects pushed back or put on indefinite hold with Xcel. It's affecting our timelines and revenue projections significantly. The lack of clear communication from their procurement teams is making it tough to plan. Definitely a shift from how things were even six months ago.
