Hey all, been with Xcel for a few years now and have a weird vibe lately. Nothing concrete, no official announcements, but there's definitely a shift happening. Been hearing whispers about 'streamlining' and 'efficiency' more often in internal comms. Also, a few projects I was expecting to staff up on seem to have stalled or been put on indefinite hold. My manager is being cagey when I ask about future projects, just saying 'we're evaluating priorities.' Anyone else picking up on this? It's not just my department, I've talked to folks in IT and Operations, and they're feeling it too. Just trying to get a sense if this is a company-wide thing or if I'm just overthinking it. Trying to stay optimistic but also realistic, you know? Curious to hear if anyone else is experiencing something similar.

Yeah, I've been getting a similar feeling. There's definitely been a lot more talk about 'optimizing resources' lately, which always makes me a little nervous about job security. It feels like they're trying to squeeze more out of the same teams without adding headcount. The project slowdown is also concerning. It's hard to plan for the future when things keep getting pushed back or canceled without clear explanations. Hopefully, it's just a temporary budget crunch and not something more significant.

Interesting that you're noticing it too. I haven't heard anything directly from leadership, but the general atmosphere has felt... tense. The emphasis on efficiency is definitely up, and the lack of clarity on project pipelines is making it difficult to gauge where things are headed. My team's been asked to double-check all our existing processes for potential improvements, which is fine, but it feels like busywork when bigger strategic questions remain unanswered.
