Tewksbury site getting gutted - anyone else?

Saw the WARN notice hit for the Tewksbury location today. 84 people heading out the door by December 2nd. It’s always the same story—leadership talks about 'operational efficiency' and 'synergies' while the actual engineering and support staff get thrown under the bus right before the holidays. I’ve been with Xylem for a few years and the morale is already in the toilet. Does anyone know if this is just a localized site restructuring or if they’re planning to do another round of corporate-wide cuts in Q1? I’m hearing whispers that this is just the tip of the iceberg, but nobody in management is saying a word, obviously. If you’re at this site, start updating your resume immediately. Don't wait for the 'transition meeting' to figure out your next move. It’s honestly exhausting watching them pump money into stock buybacks while cutting the people who actually keep the plants running.

It is honestly disgusting how they frame these layoffs as 'efficiency' moves while people are trying to plan for the holidays. I’ve seen this playbook before at other firms, and it never stops at one site. Once they start cutting engineering staff, the quality of support usually craters, and the remaining employees end up buried in work they can't possibly manage. Don't buy the 'local restructuring' line; leadership is almost certainly looking at the bottom line for the next quarterly report across the entire organization. Start updating your resume immediately and keep your head down.

I heard the same news through the grapevine. It feels like Xylem has been drifting for a while now, and this is just the latest sign that the corporate culture has shifted entirely toward cost-cutting rather than actual innovation. Everyone I talk to is anxious, and you can really feel the tension in the office. It’s hard to stay focused when you’re constantly wondering if you’re next on the chopping block. Whatever they tell you in the town hall meetings, take it with a huge grain of salt and focus on protecting your own career path outside of this place.
