Yum! Brands stability after the latest round

It feels like we’re in a constant state of flux at Yum lately. With the recent news about the 91 positions being cut in Jefferson County, the morale in the office has officially hit rock bottom. You walk past empty desks and you can just feel the anxiety radiating off everyone. I’ve been here for a few years and I’ve never seen the leadership team act this disconnected. They keep pushing the 'growth and innovation' narrative during the all-hands calls, but the actions don’t align with the words. How are we supposed to focus on hitting Q4 targets when we’re constantly looking over our shoulders wondering if the next WARN notice is going to include us? For those who have been here through previous cycles, does it actually stabilize, or is this just the new status quo for the company? I’m starting to think it’s time to update the resume and test the market before the next 'optimization' phase hits.

It is the same old song and dance from the top floor. They love to throw around buzzwords like 'synergy' and 'innovation' while the actual people doing the work are getting pushed out the door. It is impossible to feel secure when you are watching your coworkers pack up their desks week after week. At this point, the disconnect isn't even a surprise anymore; it is just the company culture. If you have been there a few years, you know the drill, but that does not make it any less exhausting to watch.

Honestly, the writing has been on the wall for a while now. When leadership stops acknowledging the reality on the ground, you know it is time to start looking elsewhere. I have seen this happen at other corporate giants before—they prioritize the quarterly reports over the actual human beings keeping the lights on. It is a shame because there is a lot of talent walking out those doors. Don't waste your energy trying to fix a ship that clearly has no interest in staying afloat.
