I hear you loud and clear. It’s the same old corporate script every time. They throw around buzzwords like 'synergy' and 'efficiency' to make the loss of livelihoods sound like a strategic victory. It’s exhausting to watch talented people leave because leadership refuses to invest in the infrastructure needed to actually do the work. You’re being gaslit because they know they can’t justify the burnout they’ve created. Don’t internalize their failure to manage resources properly; you’re being squeezed, and it has nothing to do with your performance.
Hang in there. Honestly, it’s not just your division. The 'do more with less' mentality has become the default setting for upper management across the board. They talk about future-proofing, but they’re just burning through the people who actually know how to keep the lights on. Once the institutional knowledge walks out the door, the 'efficiency' they keep preaching goes out the window anyway. Keep your head down, update your resume, and prioritize your own well-being over their arbitrary deadlines. This place doesn't deserve the level of sacrifice they are currently demanding.
