Just saw the news dropping about the 580 positions being cut. Honestly, I’m not even surprised at this point, but it still sucks to see it hit the wire. Does anyone have visibility on which departments are being gutted? I’ve been hearing whispers about R&D taking a massive hit, but the rumor mill is spinning fast today. If you got hit, please check in. It’s a brutal day for the orthopedic sector. I’ve been grinding here for years and the morale is just non-existent anymore. Management keeps talking about 'operational efficiency' and 'streamlining,' but it feels like we’re just cutting muscle at this stage. I’m currently staring at my Slack waiting for the inevitable invite to a meeting that shouldn't be happening. If you're a manager, please have some human decency and don't make people wait until 4 PM to get the news. Stay strong everyone.

I was affected in the R&D cut this morning. It’s been a chaotic few hours, but I can confirm that the impact is widespread across multiple product lines, not just one department. Leadership gave us the standard corporate jargon, but it’s clear they are prioritizing short-term margins over the actual people who built these products. If you’re still inside, keep your head down and start backing up your personal files immediately. It’s a sad day for the company culture, but honestly, I think I’ll be better off somewhere else in the long run.

Seeing these numbers is honestly just depressing at this point. I remember when this place felt like a secure career, but the constant restructuring has turned everything into a revolving door of anxiety. It feels like every quarter brings a new round of 'optimizations' that just leaves the remaining staff overworked and under-supported. I really hope those who were let go today land on their feet quickly. If anyone has leads on other firms in the industry that aren't currently imploding, please share the info.
