Hey everyone, I've been at Abbott for a few years now, and lately things have been feeling... tight. My team's been told to "be mindful of spending" for the last couple of quarters, and I'm hearing rumblings about a potential hiring freeze starting next month. No official word, of course, but the vibe is definitely shifting. Anyone else in different departments noticing similar things? Or is this just my bubble? Trying to get a pulse on the wider situation before I start worrying too much.

I've been at ABT for a while too, and while I haven't heard anything concrete about a hiring freeze, I've definitely noticed a ramp-up in 'efficiency' talks and a general tightening of budgets across the board. It's more subtle than a freeze, but the message is clear: costs need to be controlled. Fingers crossed it's just a temporary belt-tightening measure and not indicative of bigger issues.

Interesting post. My department hasn't had any direct mention of a hiring freeze, but we've been putting a hold on non-essential travel and capital expenditures for a few months now. The general sentiment from management is that we need to be extremely strategic with resources. It’s hard not to connect the dots with what you're hearing. Let's hope it's just market fluctuations.
