Abbott's Q3 Earnings and what it means for us?

Hey everyone, just saw the Q3 earnings report came out. Pretty mixed bag, some divisions doing well, others... not so much. Was wondering if anyone else is seeing any chatter or subtle signs internally about what this means for headcount? I know we haven't had any official news, but sometimes you can feel the shift in the air, right? More budget scrutiny, projects getting paused, that kind of thing. My manager has been a bit cagey when I've asked about future team plans. Curious to hear if anyone else has picked up on anything similar, or if it's just me overthinking things. Trying to stay positive but also realistic, you know? What's the general vibe out there?

Yeah, I'm feeling the same vibe. My team's been told to hold off on any non-essential travel and training, which usually happens when budgets get tightened. Haven't heard anything concrete about headcount, but the general mood is definitely one of caution. I'm trying to stay focused on my current projects and make myself indispensable, but it's hard not to worry a bit when things feel uncertain. Hope we get some clarity soon.

Honestly, I think it's too early to jump to conclusions about headcount. Q3 earnings are always a bit of a snapshot, and 'mixed bag' is pretty standard in a company this size with so many different product lines. Budgets always get scrutinized, especially this time of year. My manager is probably just being careful about what they say until official guidance comes down. I'd focus on doing good work rather than reading too much into vague signals.
