Anyone else's dept. restructuring heavily?

Lately, it feels like my department is in constant flux. New org charts seem to be popping up every other month, with people shifting roles or reporting to different people. It's making it hard to get any real momentum on projects when the structure keeps changing. I get that companies evolve, but this feels more drastic than usual. Heard whispers that some of this is to 'optimize efficiency' or some other corporate jargon. Anyone else's areas going through major reorgs? Is this a sign of things to come, or just standard Abbott-style 'change management'? Feels a bit unsettling, to be honest.

Yeah, my team at Abbott has been a revolving door lately. Seems like every quarter brings a new 'synergy' or 'streamlining' initiative that just means people are shuffling around. It's definitely frustrating when you're trying to build something and the ground keeps shifting. I'm trying to stay positive and focus on my own tasks, but it's hard not to feel a bit unsettled by the constant changes. Hopefully, this phase passes soon and we can settle into a more stable structure.

This sounds pretty familiar. 'Optimizing efficiency' is usually code for cost-cutting or preparing for a sale/merger. Don't buy into the jargon too much. Focus on what you can control – your own work and making sure your contributions are visible. Document everything you're doing. If things get really shaky, start updating your resume quietly. It's better to be prepared for the worst-case scenario, even if it doesn't happen.
