Is it just me, or is hiring frozen?

Been trying to get a few key positions filled on my team for months now and it feels like we're hitting roadblock after roadblock. The requisitions are getting delayed, the approvals are taking forever, and even when we finally get a candidate lined up, there's suddenly 'budgetary constraints' or the role gets put on hold indefinitely. It's really impacting our ability to deliver on projects and adding a ton of extra work to the existing team. I haven't seen any official announcements, but this definitely feels like a hiring freeze or at least a significant slowdown. Anyone else experiencing this? Makes you wonder if they're trying to quietly reduce headcount through attrition and delayed backfills.

Definitely not just you. It feels like a complete hiring freeze across several departments. We've had roles open for what seems like ages with no movement. It's frustrating because the workload for the rest of us is becoming unsustainable. It's hard to plan or execute projects effectively when you're constantly short-staffed and can't get new hires approved, even for critical positions.

I've noticed the same thing. It's baffling given the company's stated goals. The delays and 'budgetary constraints' are becoming the norm, and it's putting a huge strain on teams trying to keep projects on track. It makes you wonder what the long-term strategy is if we can't even bring in the talent needed to execute it. Hopefully, there's some clarity coming soon.
