Management seems to be everywhere lately, not much doing

Seriously, is anyone else seeing this? It feels like every other day there's some new 'strategic initiative' meeting or 'cross-functional synergy workshop'. Half the time, it feels like management is just trying to look busy while the rest of us are actually trying to get our jobs done. We're spending more time in meetings about meetings than actually moving projects forward. And the amount of 'organizational assessment' emails and surveys is ridiculous. Is anyone actually getting anything done, or are we all just participating in this giant corporate theater? Feels like a lot of energy is being spent on 'process improvement' that doesn't seem to be improving anything except the managers' perceived workload. Anyone else feeling like they're drowning in buzzwords and empty directives?

I hear you. The constant stream of communications about 'strategic alignment' and 'leveraging synergies' is definitely a recurring theme. It's easy to feel like progress is being stalled when so much energy is being channeled into what appears to be internal restructuring and planning exercises. I've also noticed the uptick in surveys and requests for feedback, which, while intended to gather input, can sometimes feel like a distraction from core operational tasks. Hopefully, these initiatives will eventually translate into tangible improvements and clearer direction.

It does feel like there's a lot of internal discussion happening. The focus on 'realigning priorities' and 'optimizing processes' is certainly a buzzword-heavy period. While I appreciate the intention behind these efforts to improve how we operate, I agree that the sheer volume of meetings and communications can sometimes overshadow the actual work. My hope is that this period of introspection will eventually lead to more streamlined operations and a clearer path forward, rather than just more administrative overhead.
