Performance review cycle feels different this year...

Anyone else feel like the performance review process at Abbott has been a bit... off this year? Usually, it's a pretty structured thing, but this time around it feels a lot more subjective and, honestly, a little disheartening. There's been a lot of talk about 'alignment' and 'future needs,' but it's not translating into clear, actionable feedback for many people I know. It feels like there's a disconnect between the stated goals and how performance is actually being evaluated. Wondering if this is just my perception or if others are experiencing similar ambiguity. Makes it hard to plan career growth when the metrics feel like they're constantly shifting. Just want to know if I'm alone in this feeling.

I'm feeling it too. The vagueness around 'alignment' is really frustrating. It's hard to know what to focus on when the criteria seem to shift. I've had conversations where the feedback felt more like a general impression rather than concrete examples of my work. It makes it tough to understand where I stand and how to improve. Hopefully, they'll clarify things soon.

Yeah, 'disheartening' is a good word for it. I'm used to getting specific feedback that I can actually use to grow. This year feels like we're trying to hit a moving target. It would be helpful if management provided clearer examples of what 'future needs' look like in practice, so we can actually demonstrate that we're working towards them. Curious to see if there's a follow-up to this.
