Just saw the WARN notice for the Algonquin Rd location. 416 people is a massive chunk to cut in one go. I was in the office when the emails started hitting yesterday afternoon. It wasn't a clean sweep, but the atmosphere is incredibly tense. You could feel the anxiety rising as people were pulled into private rooms one by one. If your manager has been acting strange, trust your gut and start updating your resume tonight. It is better to be prepared for the worst than to be caught off guard when they start another round of notifications tomorrow morning.

That Algonquin Rd news is devastating. I’ve survived three major restructures at Abbott over the last decade, and the 'wait and see' game is always the most brutal part. Please don't wait for your manager to give you a heads-up; usually, they are just as in the dark as we are until the very last second. Honestly, start networking and reach out to recruiters now. Even if you end up safe this week, the instability in the diagnostics division is a huge red flag.
