Just saw the latest WARN notice go live today for the January 13th cuts. Another 145 people getting the boot right after the holidays. It’s honestly exhausting watching this place turn into a revolving door of layoffs every few months. Management keeps talking about 'operational efficiency' and 'synergies' on the town halls, but at this point, I don’t think there’s any culture left to preserve. Every time I walk into the office, half the desks are empty or taken by people I don’t recognize. I have friends who survived the last two rounds who are now just waiting for the other shoe to drop in early 2025. Is anyone actually feeling secure here anymore? I’ve started brushing up my portfolio and pinging recruiters because relying on internal 'promises' has proven to be a total joke. Good luck to those getting the notice in January, the job market for devs is still absolute trash.

It is getting harder to justify staying when the vision keeps shifting toward cost-cutting rather than actual game development. Those 'synergies' are just corporate speak for gutting the talent that made these games great in the first place. My desk is near a team that lost three leads in the last wave, and the morale is non-existent. At this point, we are just waiting for the next calendar notification to see if our department is the next one on the chopping block. It is a hollow shell of the company it used to be.

I have been here for over a decade, and honestly, the soul of this company vanished the moment the focus shifted entirely to the bottom line. It is truly demoralizing to see 145 talented people pushed out right after the holiday season under the guise of efficiency. Efficiency is just a buzzword for burning out whoever is left behind to cover the workload of three different people. I keep telling myself to update my resume, but seeing these notices hit so frequently makes it feel like it is already too late.
