Anyone else feeling the pressure to hit impossible metrics lately?

Seriously, what's going on? It feels like our targets have been jacked up across the board with no real justification. My manager is riding us constantly about 'efficiency' and 'productivity', but the resources aren't there. It's like they're setting us up to fail. I'm starting to wonder if this is just a way to justify making cuts down the line. Has anyone else experienced this sudden shift in expectations? It's incredibly stressful, and I'm not sure how much longer I can keep this up. Feels like we're being squeezed dry.

Yeah, I'm feeling it too. It's definitely gotten more intense in the last quarter. The talk about 'streamlining processes' and 'optimizing workflows' sounds great in theory, but in practice, it just means doing more with less. The constant pressure is draining, and it feels like there's no real path to actually hitting these new numbers without burning ourselves out. I'm worried about what comes next if we don't magically become superheroes overnight.

Hold up, 'impossible metrics'? Maybe it's not that dire. Sometimes these shifts are driven by larger market pressures or strategic pivots we aren't privy to. Instead of focusing on the 'impossible,' try to break down the goals into smaller, manageable chunks. Can you identify specific bottlenecks or areas where efficiency *can* be improved, even slightly? Documenting your efforts and the challenges you face is crucial if you want to have a constructive conversation with management about resource allocation.
