Yeah, I've heard similar rumblings. My cousin works in QA and their department's been significantly downsized. Apparently, the focus is shifting heavily towards existing franchises and live services, with new IP development being a lower priority. It's a tough time for sure. They said it feels like the company is trying to consolidate and cut down on overheads wherever possible. Keep your head down and focus on what you can control, I guess.
Budget realignments happen all the time, especially in massive companies like this. Don't jump to conclusions about impending doom just yet. Sometimes projects just don't fit the long-term strategy anymore, or maybe there's a bigger, more strategic acquisition or investment on the horizon that's taking priority. Look for opportunities within the existing structure rather than worrying about the 'what ifs'.
