Project cancellations really ramping up?

Been seeing a bunch of projects I thought were pretty stable suddenly get put on indefinite hold or just straight-up cancelled. Usually, there's at least some kind of announcement or explanation, even if it's vague, but lately it's just... poof. My manager is being super cagey about it, just saying 'shifting priorities.' It feels like more than just shifting priorities though. Anyone else's teams seeing major project droughts or cancellations out of the blue?

Yeah, I've heard similar rumblings from friends who work there. 'Shifting priorities' is definitely the corporate euphemism for something more significant, isn't it? It's unsettling when projects you've poured time into just vanish without clear communication. Hopefully, it's just a strategic realignment and not a sign of deeper issues. Hang in there, and try to get as much clarity as you can, even if it's difficult.

Honestly, 'shifting priorities' is standard corporate speak for budget cuts or a change in leadership's pet project. Don't read too much into it. Focus on what's currently on your plate and make sure you're delivering value. If you're worried about job security, start polishing that resume proactively, just in case. It's always better to be prepared than blindsided, regardless of the company.
