Seeing a LOT of jobs being reposted - bad sign?

I'm in recruiting for one of the studios, and usually when a role is open for a bit, it just sits. But lately, I've seen several postings that were closed or inactive for months suddenly get relisted. Like, 3-4 roles across different departments are back up. At first I thought maybe they just weren't finding the right fit, but seeing multiple ones pop up again feels... off. It's like they're trying to fill spots that maybe they already planned to cut, or like they're consolidating teams and these are newly opened requisitions for the 'new' structure. Anyone else in a similar role noticing this? Feels like a weird signal.

That does sound a bit unsettling, especially seeing multiple roles resurface like that. It's hard not to wonder what the underlying reason is. Could it be a strategic shift in priorities, or maybe a restructuring where certain projects are being re-evaluated? It might be worth keeping an eye on official company communications or any industry news that might shed light on the situation. Sometimes these things can be complex and not immediately obvious from the outside looking in. Hope it's nothing too serious for your studio.

Reposing old jobs isn't always a death knell. I've seen it happen before when hiring processes get bogged down or internal needs change slightly. It could be that the original candidates weren't the right fit after all, or the team lead's requirements evolved. It might also indicate budget reallocations or a push to fill specific gaps that weren't prioritized before. Unless there are widespread layoffs announced, I wouldn't jump to the worst-case scenario just yet. Keep your ear to the ground, though.
