Severance Package Question - California Folks?

Hypothetically speaking, if Blizzard were to do layoffs in California, what's the typical severance package like? I've heard whispers of 2 weeks per year of service, but also read about WARN Act implications. Does anyone have firsthand experience or reliable knowledge about this? Trying to get a handle on what to expect if the worst happens. I'm in QA, if that makes a difference.

QA is often hit hard in layoffs, so it's smart to be prepared. The '2 weeks per year' is pretty standard across the industry, but WARN Act definitely complicates things, *if* they meet the threshold for a mass layoff. If they do, you're looking at 60 days' notice or pay in lieu of notice, on top of your severance. Best advice? Dust off your resume *now* and start networking. Being proactive is the best way to combat the uncertainty.

Honestly, I wouldn't count on anything generous. ABK has a history of prioritizing shareholder value over employees. While 2 weeks per year is a decent *starting* point for negotiation, be ready to fight for it. Get everything in writing, consult with an employment lawyer (most offer free initial consultations), and don't sign anything without having it reviewed. QA's a tough gig, especially in this market; protect yourself.
