This freaking sucks, I'm so tired of the constant uncertainty

Seriously, can upper management just make up their minds already? Every other week there's another rumor, another restructuring, another round of 're-evaluation'. I'm on the QA team, and honestly, we're always the first to go, aren't we? It's exhausting trying to stay motivated and passionate about my work when I'm constantly worried about losing my job. I bust my butt testing these games, finding bugs, and trying to make them better, and what do I get? The feeling like I'm disposable. I love working in gaming, I really do, but this constant fear is eating me alive. Anyone else just completely burnt out?

I feel you. It's rough out there. My friend was laid off from Blizzard QA a few years ago, and the uncertainty leading up to it was definitely the worst part for them. All that anxiety makes it hard to focus on the actual job. Honestly, start looking around for other options. It's always better to be prepared and have something lined up if the worst happens. Good luck!

Yeah, welcome to corporate life. This isn't unique to Activision Blizzard, plenty of companies do this. 'Re-evaluation' is basically code for 'we're figuring out how to cut costs, and that usually means people.' Honestly, QA is often seen as a cost center, unfortunately. My advice? Polish your resume and network like crazy. Don't put all your eggs in one basket and hope for the best, hope for the worst and prepare for it.
