I've been wondering the same thing about Diablo Immortal. The monetization always felt aggressive, but it's hard to tell if that's just the model or if the development budget for ongoing content is actually suffering. With the acquisition still settling, it's likely everything is in flux. Hopefully, they're not gutting the live services team, as that would be a huge disappointment for the player base that has stuck with it.
This whole situation with Activision Blizzard is concerning. The lack of transparency around budgets, especially for games like Diablo Immortal that rely heavily on continuous updates, is definitely a red flag. The merger with Microsoft adds another layer of complexity, and it's hard to predict what the long-term impact will be on game development and support. Fingers crossed they don't abandon their live service titles.
