Is AMD prepping for workforce reduction?

Been working at AMD for a few years now, and lately, the vibe has been... off. Project scopes seem to be tightening, and there's a lot of talk about 'efficiency improvements' which, let's be real, often precedes layoffs. I've been avoiding the layoff rumor mills on other sites, but it's hard to completely tune it out. Has anyone on here noticed any organizational changes, hiring freezes, or other subtle signs that might indicate a restructuring or reduction in force is on the horizon? Curious to hear if anyone's department is feeling the pinch or if it's just general market anxiety bleeding over. Trying to gauge the situation without freaking out.

I've seen similar whispers in my department. We haven't had a hiring freeze that I know of, but the pace of new project approvals has definitely slowed down. It feels like resources are being stretched thinner, and there's a lot more emphasis on squeezing existing projects for every last drop of efficiency. It's unsettling, to say the least, and makes you wonder what the long-term plan really is.

However, I have noticed a few key positions that haven't been backfilled as quickly as they used to be, and some teams seem to be consolidating responsibilities. It's not a definitive sign of layoffs, but it's definitely something to keep an eye on if you're concerned.
