Layoff rumors vs. Reality at AMD?

Okay, seriously, what's the deal with all these layoff rumors swirling around AMD? It's getting a bit much. Every other day there's a new headline claiming massive cuts are coming, or specific teams are being targeted. I haven't seen any official communication, and my team is still plugging away like normal. But it's hard not to feel a bit anxious when you're constantly seeing these articles and posts online, especially from outside sources. Is this just industry-wide FUD, or is there actually something brewing that management isn't sharing yet? It's frustrating because it creates uncertainty for everyone. If there *were* layoffs, wouldn't we hear *something* internally by now? Or are they just that good at keeping things quiet? Just want to get a pulse check from others. Anyone have direct experience or solid info? Let's cut through the noise.

Anyone else hearing whispers about potential cuts at AMD?

Hey team, been seeing a lot of noise online about potential layoffs at AMD, but nothing concrete. Just wanted to see if anyone on the inside has heard anything more solid. Feels like the whole tech sector is shaky right now, and even though AMD has been doing some great work lately, especially with the new EPYC and Ryzen chips, you never know. PC market slowdown is real, and even server demand, while strong, might see some adjustments. My manager has been pretty cagey when I've tried to bring it up indirectly. Anyone else in a similar boat? Trying not to panic, but also want to be prepared if things go sideways. Seems like a lot of speculation out there, but it's hard to ignore when it's so widespread. Just looking for some real insights if anyone has them. Thanks.

Rant: Frustrated with the Constant Restructuring

Seriously, how many times are they going to reorganize the teams? I feel like every six months, they shuffle us around, change reporting structures, and suddenly I'm working on a completely different project with a whole new set of people. It's exhausting! It feels like they're constantly trying to find the 'perfect' organizational chart, but all it does is create chaos and disrupt productivity. I'm so tired of having to re-learn everything and build new relationships every few months. Just let me do my job!

Hypothetical Severance Package - What to Expect?

Okay, so this is purely hypothetical, but I'm trying to be prepared. If AMD were to do layoffs, what kind of severance package could we realistically expect? I'm talking based on years of service, benefits continuation, etc. I've heard rumors of two weeks per year of service, but also seen companies offering much less. Anyone have firsthand experience from past AMD layoffs or insights from other companies in the industry? Trying to get a sense of what I should be budgeting for in a worst-case scenario.

Anyone else getting nervous? Things feel...off?

I've been at AMD for almost 5 years now, in the graphics division, and the vibe lately is just weird. My skip-level has been super vague in meetings, avoiding direct questions about future projects. We just finished a big launch, so you'd think things would be celebratory, but it feels more like everyone's holding their breath. I know the whole industry is turbulent right now, but the silence from leadership is making me think something's definitely brewing. Anyone else feeling this?

Rant: Constant Reorgs Are Killing Morale

Seriously, how many times have we been through a reorg in the last two years? It feels like every six months, the org chart gets shuffled, teams get dissolved, and projects get scrapped. I'm an IC in the CPU group, and it's exhausting. Each time, we lose momentum, have to learn new processes, and build relationships with new colleagues. This constant state of flux is making it impossible to get anything meaningful done. Is anyone else feeling this? I’m so tired of the uncertainty and lack of direction. I came here because I thought it was a great place to work, but now I feel like I'm just waiting for the next shoe to drop.

Severance Package - What to expect?

Hypothetically speaking, if AMD were to do layoffs, what kind of severance package could we expect? I know it varies, but trying to get a sense of the range. I'm a senior engineer with 8 years at the company. Heard whispers of 2 weeks per year of service plus some benefits continuation, but that's just hearsay. Anyone have experience from past layoffs (at AMD or similar companies) or insights on what to negotiate for? Just trying to be prepared.

Anyone else feeling uneasy? Q3 performance...

I'm in marketing, been at AMD for 5 years. Seeing the Q3 numbers, I can't shake this feeling that something's gotta give. Revenue targets seem way off, and there's been this weird silence from leadership. My skip-level keeps saying everything's fine, but his body language is screaming otherwise. Anyone else feeling the same? Or am I just being paranoid? Specifically concerned about projects being put on hold and hiring freezes expanding. Makes me think a reorg, or worse, is coming.
