Micron: Any intel on specific departments being hit?

Been scanning the usual channels and there's no smoke signal from Micron about anything official, but the whispers are getting louder. It's the classic 'no news is good news' vs. 'they're just keeping it quiet' debate. What I'm curious about is if anyone has heard anything more specific about where potential cuts might be happening, if they are indeed happening. Is it R&D? Manufacturing? Support functions? It’s hard to plan or even just mentally prepare when it feels like a dark cloud could appear out of nowhere. Just trying to get a pulse on the situation beyond the vague industry trends. Any specific rumors or observations you guys have, even if unconfirmed? Trying to stay ahead of things.

Micron: Anyone else feeling the tension?

Hey everyone, been seeing a lot of chatter about potential layoffs across the semiconductor industry, and honestly, it's starting to weigh on me here at Micron. No official word, of course, and management's been doing the usual 'we're strong' song and dance. But the market sentiment, the ongoing inventory adjustments, and the general economic uncertainty are hard to ignore. My team's workload has been… interesting lately. Some projects are definitely slowing down, while others are still pushing hard. Makes it tough to gauge what's really going on. Anyone else in a similar boat? Feeling the quiet before a storm, or am I just overthinking this?

Did anyone's RSUs vest recently and are they selling?

Been with Micron for a little over 5 years, currently in a program management role. My RSUs just vested this month, and I'm honestly debating whether to sell all or some of them. Given the current market sentiment and the general uncertainty around the semiconductor industry (and Micron specifically), holding onto them feels a bit risky. But then again, if things turn around, I might regret selling low. Curious to hear what others in similar situations are doing. Are you holding, selling, or a mix? Any specific triggers or reasons behind your decision? Trying to figure out the smartest financial move here, especially with all the chatter.

Hearing whispers about hiring freeze in certain departments

Hey all, been at Micron for about 7 years now, working in the fab engineering side. Lately, I've been hearing some murmurs from folks in different teams (not my own, thankfully, but close enough to get the info) that there's been an informal hiring freeze put in place for certain non-critical roles. No official announcement, of course, but requisitions seem to be stalled and new projects requiring headcount are being put on indefinite hold. Has anyone else in other orgs or locations picked up on this? Trying to gauge if this is a widespread thing or just isolated to a few areas. Definitely adds to the general unease if true, even if it's not direct layoffs yet. Just want to get a sense of the broader picture.

Rant: Performance review season is such a joke!

Seriously, every year it's the same BS. We bust our butts all year, hit our targets (and often exceed them), and then they nickel and dime us on the performance reviews. "Needs Improvement" in some random vague area that wasn't even mentioned during the year, just to justify a smaller bonus. Meanwhile, the execs get fat bonuses while they're squeezing every last drop out of us. And the worst part is, everyone knows the system is rigged, but nobody says anything. It's so demoralizing. I'm starting to feel like just doing the bare minimum is the only sane way to approach this job anymore.

Severance Package Question - What to Expect?

Hypothetically speaking, if Micron were to do layoffs (again), what kind of severance package could employees expect? I'm trying to prepare myself mentally and financially. I've been here for 5 years and know it varies, but any insights from past experiences or industry knowledge would be greatly appreciated. Specifically interested in how they calculate it - weeks per year of service? Continued benefits? Any info is helpful. Thanks!

Anyone else feeling super uneasy at Micron right now?

I've been at Micron for 8 years, in the NAND validation group. Lately, the vibe has been totally off. My manager, who's usually Mr. Positive, seems stressed and keeps having closed-door meetings. There's been a hiring freeze for a while, but now they're also not backfilling people who leave. The official line is "optimizing resources," but come on, we all know what that means. Anyone else hearing rumblings, or am I just paranoid? I'm starting to dust off my resume, just in case.

Rant: Feeling completely undervalued and overworked!

I'm so burnt out. I've been with Micron for 5 years, and the workload has been insane lately. They keep piling on new projects, with ridiculously tight deadlines, and expect us to work miracles. My manager keeps saying how 'critical' our team is, but the promotions and raises aren't reflecting that. It feels like they're trying to squeeze every last drop of productivity out of us before the axe falls. I'm constantly working late, weekends are a blur, and my personal life is non-existent. Honestly, at this point, I'm almost hoping for a layoff just to get some breathing room. Is it too much to ask for a decent work-life balance and to be fairly compensated for my efforts?

Severance package details at Micron? What to expect?

Hypothetically speaking, if there WERE to be layoffs, what kind of severance package does Micron typically offer? I've heard some companies are generous, others not so much. I'm in a senior engineering role, been here for 4 years. I'm just trying to be prepared and understand what my options might be. Does anyone have any experience with this, or know where I can find some reliable information? Glassdoor is kinda all over the place. I just want to know what kind of bridge I would have to the next job.

Anyone else feeling super anxious about potential cuts at Micron?

I've been at Micron for 7 years now, in the NAND development group. Lately, the atmosphere has been really tense. Meetings are shorter, people seem stressed, and the coffee machine is constantly out of order (a truly terrible omen!). I know the whole industry is a bit shaky right now, and our stock hasn't been doing great. Has anyone else heard anything specific about potential layoffs? Or is it just my anxiety getting the better of me? My wife is pregnant and a layoff would be devastating. I really love my team and I'd hate to see anyone go. Trying to stay positive but it's getting harder every day. Any insights would be appreciated.
