Micron: Performance reviews feeling extra intense lately?

Is it just me, or have performance reviews at Micron become significantly more rigorous and, frankly, a bit stressful this cycle? My manager seemed to be drilling down into every metric and project deliverable with a microscope. There was a lot more emphasis on 'impact' and 'alignment with strategic goals,' which, again, I get, but the tone felt different. It wasn't just about meeting expectations, it was about exceeding them in very specific, measurable ways. Heard similar sentiments from a few colleagues in different groups too. It's making me wonder if there's an underlying agenda or if the company is getting ready to make some tough decisions based on recent performance data. It's hard to shake the feeling that this heightened scrutiny isn't just about standard performance management. Anyone else experienced this shift? Trying to understand the bigger picture here.

Yeah, I've definitely felt a shift in the review process too. It feels like there's a much stronger focus on quantifiable achievements and how they directly tie into the company's broader objectives. While I appreciate the clarity and direction, the pressure to demonstrate exceptional impact in every single area is pretty intense. It makes you second-guess even your solid contributions. Hoping it's a temporary adjustment period.

I'm glad someone else is talking about this. My experience was similar – a lot more granular detail expected, and a real push to articulate the *why* behind the *what*. It's like they're looking for a much deeper level of strategic thinking and demonstrable value add this time around. It's definitely raising the bar and making things feel more competitive internally.
