Lately, it feels like getting headcount approved for new roles is like pulling teeth. We had some positions open that seemed pretty critical, but the process has stalled significantly. Is this just a general hiring freeze creeping in, or is it specific to certain departments? I know the industry can be cyclical, but it feels more deliberate than just a seasonal dip. I'm in a similar boat. The approval process for new hires has become incredibly drawn out, almost to the point of being demoralizing. What used to take weeks now feels like months, and critical roles are left vacant for far too long.
