Micron: Significant freeze on T&E and internal projects?

Hey everyone, been at Micron for a few years now and usually things are pretty steady, even during slower cycles. But lately, I've been hearing some chatter and seeing some firsthand evidence that makes me think something's up beyond just normal seasonality. My manager mentioned a pretty strict freeze on T&E, which is unusual for our team. Plus, a couple of internal projects I was looking forward to kicking off seem to have been indefinitely postponed with little explanation. It feels like more than just budget tightening. Anyone else in different departments noticing similar moves? Is this a company-wide thing, or is it localized to certain areas? Trying to gauge the temperature here before jumping to conclusions, but it's definitely a weird vibe.

I've noticed something similar. Travel is definitely restricted, and it feels like budget approvals for even small things are taking way longer than usual. It's not just T&E either; I've seen some R&D initiatives get put on hold that seemed like they were ready to go. Makes you wonder what's driving it – a shift in strategy, market pressures, or something else entirely? Hopefully, we'll get more clarity soon.

That's concerning to hear. My experience hasn't been quite as drastic, but I have seen a general tightening. Certain vendor contracts that would normally be renewed are being reviewed much more closely, and some non-essential spending is definitely being scrutinized. It's understandable that projects might be re-prioritized, but the lack of communication is what's unsettling. Hoping it's just a temporary adjustment and not indicative of larger issues.
