Aon - Hiring Freeze Rumors?

Been trying to get a few reqs approved for my team at Aon and hitting some serious roadblocks. The usual process seems to be on hold, and I'm getting vague answers about "budgetary reviews" and "prioritization." Is anyone else in hiring or recruiting seeing a slowdown or outright freeze on bringing in new talent? Used to be that if the role was critical, it was a straightforward process. Now it feels like every single headcount is under a microscope. It's making it tough to plan for the next quarter and beyond. Just curious if this is a company-wide thing or if I'm just in a particularly scrutinized department. Not seeing any official announcements, but the silence and the roadblocks are speaking volumes.

Yeah, definitely feeling the same vibe over here. What used to be a quick turnaround for critical roles is now a lengthy battle. My last few requisitions have been stuck in limbo for weeks, with similar talk about budget and priority shifts. My experience aligns with yours. We've been told there's a temporary pause on non-essential hires, but the definition of 'essential' seems to be tightening by the day. It's understandable given the economic climate, but the lack of clear communication is frustrating for managers who are trying to build and maintain their teams. Fingers crossed this is just a temporary measure and things open up soon.
