Aon: Navigating the current climate - what's the vibe?

Hey everyone, been with Aon for a few years now in [mention general department/area if comfortable, e.g., consulting, brokerage ops]. Lately, there's definitely been a shift in the air. Not hearing concrete layoff news, but the 'optimizing' and 'efficiency' talk seems to be everywhere. Meetings feel a bit more intense, and there's a general sense of uncertainty about what's coming next. Anyone else picking up on this? Are you seeing changes in your teams, project priorities, or hiring freezes? Trying to gauge if this is a company-wide thing or just my specific division feeling the pinch. Curious to hear what others are experiencing and how you're mentally preparing or adapting. Sticking around or starting to look elsewhere? Any advice on how to position yourself well during these times would be appreciated.

Yeah, I'm feeling that too. We've been told to 'do more with less' which I guess is corporate speak for increased workload without more resources. Hiring seems to have completely stalled in my division, and even internal transfers are being scrutinized heavily. It's making it tough to plan any long-term projects when you don't know if key people will still be around. Definitely a different atmosphere than a year or two ago.

Interesting to hear someone else bring this up. I'm in a different part of the business, but the 'efficiency' buzzwords are constant. Projects are being re-prioritized more frequently, and there's a definite push to consolidate responsibilities. While no one is panicking, there's a low hum of anxiety about job security, especially among newer hires. It's making for some tense team meetings, that's for sure.
