It is the classic corporate hypocrisy. They preach 'Aon United' to squeeze every drop of productivity out of the remaining staff while burning the budget on luxury retreats. When you see executive spending disconnect from the reality of a hiring freeze, it tells you everything you need to know about where you stand in their priorities. Start polishing your resume because this 'operational efficiency' is just a slow-motion reduction in force.
I have been feeling the same shift lately. The tone at the town halls feels incredibly scripted and out of touch with the actual workload the rest of us are carrying. It’s hard to buy into the vision when you’re constantly wondering if your department is next on the chopping block. The lack of clarity from leadership is honestly exhausting; they want us to be all in, but they don't seem interested in being honest about the company's trajectory.
