Anyone else notice the hiring freeze is *real* now?

Hey all, been at Apple for about 5 years now, primarily in the Services org. For the past few months, it's been pretty obvious that new headcount is basically non-existent. My manager has alluded to it multiple times, and it feels like any open roles are being scrutinized heavily. We used to hire pretty consistently, especially for junior roles, but it feels like that's completely stopped. Just wondering if this is a company-wide thing or if it's more specific to certain divisions. Thinking about what this means long-term, especially with the recent news. Anyone else in a similar boat or have insights into why this is happening?

Yeah, definitely feeling it over in [Your Division/Team]. It's been pretty quiet on the hiring front for a while now, and it seems like even internal transfers are getting stalled. Managers are definitely having to justify every single opening, and it's slowing down projects that need fresh blood. It's a tough environment right now, and I'm curious to see how long this continues.

Interesting. I'm in a different part of the company and we're still onboarding new folks, though perhaps not at the same pace as before. It's possible there are just certain areas facing more pressure than others. Have you tried looking at the internal job board to see if there are any roles posted at all, even if they're taking longer to fill? Might give you a better picture of the overall landscape.
