Apple's Financials vs. Layoffs - A Bit Off?

Seeing reports of layoffs at Apple, a company with seemingly endless cash reserves, always strikes me as odd. They *chose* to do this, right? It’s not like they’re struggling. If they needed to change their sales approach or re-evaluate a project, why does that automatically mean people lose their jobs? Couldn't they redeploy talent or offer voluntary separation? It feels like a power move or just a way to boost short-term metrics at the expense of people's livelihoods. Anyone else feel this disconnect? It makes me really question the 'why' behind these decisions when the company is so financially robust. Feels less like necessity and more like 'because they can.'

It's definitely a strange perception. The sheer amount of cash Apple holds is astronomical. When you hear about layoffs, especially after record-breaking quarters, it does make you wonder about the underlying business decisions. Redeploying talent seems like a far more logical and humane approach for a company of that stature. It raises questions about priorities – are profits truly more important than the people who helped build that success? It feels... shortsighted, honestly.
