Seriously, what is going on? I've been through a few ups and downs at Apple, but this feels different. The recent news about layoffs, even if it wasn't my team *this* time, has everyone on edge. People are looking over their shoulders, and the usual camaraderie seems to be fading. I'm in a core product engineering role, and even here, the buzz is all about who's next, not about building cool stuff. It's making it really hard to stay motivated, and honestly, I'm starting to look around. Has anyone managed to navigate this and keep their spirits up? Or is this just the new normal?

Hang in there. It's tough when there's uncertainty, but remember why you joined Apple in the first place. The product itself and the impact it has is still immense. Focus on what you can control – your own work and contributions. Maybe connect with some trusted colleagues for coffee and a vent session, but try not to get swept up in the rumor mill. Good people will always find opportunities, and your experience speaks for itself.

People were stressed, but eventually, things stabilized. It might be worth updating your resume and keeping an ear to the ground, just to see what else is out there. Having options can sometimes ease the anxiety, even if you decide to stay.
