Heard some whispers about 'restructuring' in my department...

Anyone else hearing rumblings about potential layoffs in the hardware division? I'm on the silicon engineering team, been here for 7 years, and the last few weeks have felt...off. My manager has been super vague in meetings, and a couple of projects have been quietly put on hold. It's making me incredibly anxious. I've started updating my resume, just in case. Anyone else in hardware or related areas seeing similar signs? Is it time to jump ship before it's too late?

Yeah, things have been weirdly quiet on our end too (camera module team). Projects getting shelved suddenly is never a good sign. 7 years is a solid run; companies rarely value loyalty like they used to. Dusting off the resume is a smart move, regardless. Look at it as exploring options rather than panicking. Better to be prepared than caught off guard. Good luck!

Honestly, a little skepticism is warranted. Apple's always got something cooking, and "restructuring" could mean a million different things. Maybe they're shifting focus, maybe they're streamlining processes. Could be a big nothing burger. Seven years, you've probably seen this cycle before, right? I'd wait and see what actually happens before jumping ship based on whispers and vague meetings.
