I'm so burnt out and terrified of getting laid off

I'm so tired of the constant pressure. I've been at Apple for 5 years, and the workload has only increased year after year. Now, with all this talk about potential layoffs, I'm completely stressed. I put in so much effort, and the thought of being let go after all this… it's infuriating. What's the point of working so hard when it feels like your job security is constantly on the line? The anxiety is eating me alive. I feel like I can't even enjoy my weekends anymore. Just needed to vent. Is anyone else feeling this way?

I totally get it. Been there, done that (though not at Apple). The constant pressure to perform, especially with layoff rumors swirling, is soul-crushing. Honestly, what helped me was focusing on what I *can* control: documenting my accomplishments meticulously, networking like crazy (even internally), and updating my resume *now*. That way, if the worst happens, you're prepared. And even if it doesn't, you've boosted your visibility and marketability. Good luck!

Five years is a good run, but honestly, loyalty doesn't mean much to big companies anymore. Is it possible the pressure is partly self-imposed? Apple is known for attracting high-achievers. Maybe reassess your workload and boundaries. Are you taking on too much? Is it *all* truly essential? If they're thinking about layoffs, maybe it's time to quietly explore other opportunities. The stress isn't worth it if your well-being is suffering. Just a thought.
