Just gonna say it... I'm terrified (and angry)

I busted my ass for this company for 12 years. Twelve years! Gave up weekends, missed family events, poured my heart and soul into my work on the silicon team. And for what? The constant threat of being 'restructured' out of a job? I'm so sick of the corporate BS, the endless meetings that accomplish nothing, the constant pressure to innovate while being micromanaged to death. And now, the rumors are flying again. My stomach is in knots, I can't sleep, and I'm constantly checking my email. It's just not worth it anymore. If they want to lay me off, fine. But I'm done pretending like I'm 'grateful' for the opportunity to be exploited. Rant over.

I hear you. That kind of dedication deserves respect and stability, not this constant anxiety. Silicon teams are vital – it's insane they'd treat people that way. Have you started discreetly networking outside the company? Updating your resume and making some connections might ease your mind, even if you don't immediately jump ship. Knowing you have options makes a huge difference in dealing with this kind of stress.

Twelve years is a long time, and the tech world can be brutal. I've seen so many similar stories. While your feelings are valid, remember that companies are ultimately driven by the bottom line. "Innovation" often translates to cost-cutting. Start looking at your severance package, figure out your next steps, and prepare to land on your feet. Don't let them control your narrative.
