Yeah, I've seen this before. The 'humming along' phase is often followed by a sudden 'reorg' announcement. It's classic corporate speak. Don't get too comfortable, but also don't panic. Keep doing your job well, document your contributions, and network internally. Sometimes 'safe' just means you haven't been on the radar yet, and that can change in an instant. Listen to what people are saying, but trust your own observations more.

It's like they let the rumor mill churn and then surprise you. 'Synergies' and 'streamlining' are usually code for 'cutting costs.' Keep your resume updated, just in case.
