Anyone else feeling uneasy? Headcount dropping in some depts

Been at Autodesk for almost 5 years now, in the AEC division. Lately, things have felt...off. I've noticed a few familiar faces disappearing from our weekly all-hands meetings, and whispers are going around about 'restructuring.' My skip-level hasn't said anything directly, but the overall vibe is making me nervous. Anyone else experiencing this in their departments? Specifically, wondering if anyone in manufacturing is seeing similar trends. Just trying to gauge if this is isolated or a company-wide thing. I'm not necessarily worried about my own job, but more about the overall health and stability of the company. It's hard to focus on projects when you're constantly wondering what's coming next.

Yeah, I'm in manufacturing and seeing similar things. Fewer new projects being greenlit, budget cuts across the board. We've lost a couple of senior engineers recently, officially 'retirement' but timing seems suspect. My manager is acting like everything is fine, but he's got that 'deer in headlights' look. Start updating your resume, just in case.

Honestly, these things come and go. Autodesk is a big company; there's always some department restructuring happening somewhere. Five years is a good run, but it's not unheard of for them to shift things around. Instead of worrying, focus on delivering solid work and making yourself indispensable. Try networking internally, see if there are opportunities in other divisions that seem more stable.
