The silence is definitely the worst part. When leadership keeps the Slack channels locked down and HR stays dark, it just breeds paranoia. At this point, I think the 'no news is good news' logic doesn't apply to Autodesk anymore. It feels like they’re dragging this out to keep productivity up until the absolute last second. If you haven't been pulled into a meeting by now, you might be safe for this specific wave, but I wouldn't bet my career on it being the end of the cuts. Keep your resume updated and export your important files while you still have access.
Honestly, stop refreshing your inbox and start preparing for the worst. Autodesk has a history of these 'staggered' layoffs, and the strategy is clearly to keep people on edge to prevent a mass exodus before they're ready to flip the switch. If you haven't received a calendar invite for a 'business update' yet, you’re probably safe for the next few days, but that doesn't mean you're in the clear long-term. Just do your work, stay off the radar, and make sure your personal portfolio is backed up off their servers today. It’s just business, don't take the lack of communication personally.
