Feeling invisible after the latest round of cuts

I’ve been at Autodesk for over six years now, and I’ve survived three different 'restructuring' events. Honestly, the morale in my department is at an all-time low. It feels like every time we get comfortable, there’s another WARN notice dropped on us to satisfy the shareholders. I look around at my team and half the chairs are empty or filled with people who are just waiting for the other shoe to drop. We keep hearing about these pivots toward new tech and cloud strategies, but it never seems to actually improve the day-to-day workflow—it just creates more work for the few of us left holding the bag. I’m starting to wonder if staying here is just setting myself up for more stress than it's worth. Is anyone else feeling like the 'talent' is being treated as completely disposable at this point? I’m exhausted.

I hear you. Six years is a long time to keep your head down while the culture shifts under your feet. It’s draining to constantly worry about the next cycle of cuts instead of focusing on the actual work. Those internal shifts towards 'new tech' often feel like a hollow excuse from leadership to mask the churn. You aren’t alone in feeling this way; when the focus stays strictly on the stock price rather than the people who build the products, burnout becomes inevitable. Take care of yourself and keep your options open.

Honestly, the constant restructuring is exhausting. It creates this permanent state of anxiety where nobody feels safe, no matter how much they contribute. It’s hard to stay invested in a vision or a strategy when you know your colleagues—or you—could be out the door by the end of the quarter. It’s not just you; the disconnect between executive-level cloud buzzwords and the reality of the office floor is massive. Prioritize your mental health and don't let a faceless corporate machine make you feel like your value is tied to a spreadsheet.
