Heard rumors about possible layoffs in the fall, anyone know more?

Okay, so this is just a rumor I heard through the grapevine, but apparently there's talk about potential layoffs happening sometime in the fall, maybe around October or November. Someone in finance mentioned something about needing to 'realign resources' after the next quarterly report. I'm in sales, been here for 3 years, and while I usually hit my targets, the market's been tough lately. Anyone else heard anything similar? Any insight into how Autodesk typically handles these things? Is it performance-based, or more like last-in-first-out? Any insights appreciated.

Yeah, I've heard whispers too. Usually, Autodesk does a "performance review" smokescreen before any big cuts. Watch out for sudden emphasis on metrics and PIPs. Start documenting everything *you* do, successes especially. Makes it harder to justify letting you go. Brush up your resume and discreetly network – better to be prepared than blindsided. Good luck!

Honestly, take everything with a huge grain of salt. Layoff rumors pop up like clockwork every year, especially around Q3 reporting. "Realign resources" is corporate speak for anything from restructuring to buying more coffee. I wouldn't lose sleep over it unless it comes from a more credible source than hearsay from someone in finance. Focus on your work and ignore the noise.
