Anyone else seeing a hiring freeze at Berkshire Hathaway?

Hey everyone, been with BRK for a few years now in one of the larger subsidiaries (not GEICO, but adjacent industry). Lately, it feels like the spigot has been turned off. We've had open requisitions for months that are just sitting there, and new roles aren't even being posted. My manager vaguely mentioned 'budgetary review' but it's giving me the creeps. I've heard absolutely nothing about actual layoffs, and the culture here has always been pretty stable, but this feels... different. Anyone else in a BRK company experiencing this? Is it just the current economic climate affecting all large corps, or is something specific happening internally? Trying not to panic, but the silence is deafening. Would love to hear if others are seeing similar trends or have any insights.

Interesting observation. While I'm not directly involved with a Berkshire subsidiary, I've noticed similar chatter across certain sectors of the economy. Companies are definitely getting more cautious with hiring. It could be a broad economic adjustment, or perhaps specific industry headwinds affecting certain parts of BRK. Keep an eye on their public statements and any sector-specific news that might shed light on their internal strategy. Hopefully, it's just a temporary pause for strategic planning rather than a sign of deeper issues. Stay vigilant!
