Quiet whispers about restructuring at BH subsidiaries?

Hey all, I've been with a Berkshire subsidiary for a few years now, and while nothing is official, I'm picking up on some unsettling trends. Management has been pretty tight-lipped, but there are more 'efficiency reviews' and 'strategic realignments' being mentioned than usual. My immediate team hasn't seen anything, but I'm hearing from folks in other divisions, especially those that might be considered 'legacy' or less synergistic with current initiatives, that there's a definite unease. Budgets seem tighter, and there's a bit of a 'hunker down' mentality creeping in. Has anyone else at a BH company noticed similar things? Trying to gauge if this is just my corner of the empire or something more widespread. Not looking for rumors, just honest observations from others in similar situations. Curious to see if the 'steady ship' reputation is starting to show some cracks beneath the surface.

Interesting post. Berkshire's decentralized structure has always been a strength, allowing subsidiaries considerable autonomy. However, the sheer scale of the conglomerate means that even minor shifts in strategy or operational focus at the parent level can ripple through. The mention of 'efficiency reviews' and 'strategic realignments' could indeed signal a broader push for optimization across the board, especially if the focus is on improving returns or adapting to changing market conditions. It's understandable why employees might feel uneasy without clear communication, but hopefully, any changes will ultimately benefit the long-term health of the businesses.
