Another 178 gone in New Orleans. When does this stop?

Just saw the WARN notice for the Old Gentilly Road site. It’s officially 178 people getting cut by mid-April. I’ve been hearing rumors for weeks that the New Orleans operations were being downsized, but seeing it on paper is another thing entirely. It feels like we’re just watching the slow-motion dismantling of the company piece by piece. Does anyone have any actual insight into whether they’re shuttering the facility entirely or if this is just another round of 'efficiency' cuts? The uncertainty is killing the morale for those of us left in the shop. You try to keep your head down and focus on the work, but every time an email comes through from management about 'streamlining,' everyone just stops what they're doing and waits for the hammer to drop. I’m tired of looking over my shoulder every time my manager calls a last-minute team meeting. If you’re at the New Orleans site, check your portal—don't wait for them to come tell you to your face, because we all know that’s not how they do things anymore.

It’s honestly heartbreaking to see the New Orleans site getting gutted like this. I have friends there who have given decades to the company, and they are being treated like line items on a balance sheet. From what I’ve been hearing, leadership is obsessed with margin recovery at the expense of our actual skilled workforce. I don't think they’re closing the whole shop tomorrow, but they are definitely stripping it down to the bare minimum. It feels like they're sacrificing the foundation just to keep the stock price from cratering further. The morale is non-existent right now.

I’ve been tracking these filings across all the regional sites, and unfortunately, this looks like the standard playbook they’ve been running for years. They call it 'strategic realignment' to keep shareholders happy, but it’s really just death by a thousand cuts. Every time they promise these are the final layoffs, another notice pops up a few months later. At this point, no facility is safe until the leadership changes their entire philosophy. Don't expect any real clarity from the brass; they’ll keep it vague until the very last second to avoid more bad press.
