Severance package questions if the worst happens...

Okay, so nothing concrete has been announced, but the rumors are swirling, and the general mood around here is pretty anxious. I've been at Boeing for about 4 years, working as a senior analyst in finance. If layoffs do happen, I want to be prepared. Does anyone have experience with Boeing severance packages from past events? What's typically included? Is it based on years of service? Does it include extended health benefits or outplacement services? I've been trying to research this but haven't found much specific to Boeing. Any insights would be super helpful, even if it's just general advice on what to expect or ask for.

Anyone else feeling the quiet before the storm at Boeing?

Been with Boeing for about 7 years now, mostly in engineering on the defense side. Lately, it's been so quiet. Like, eerily quiet. My team hasn't gotten any new project assignments in weeks, and the usual 'let's plan for next quarter' meetings are being pushed back. My manager is being super vague, just saying 'we're re-evaluating priorities.' I've heard whispers from colleagues in other departments, especially some of the older contract folks, about not having their contracts renewed. It feels like something is brewing, and frankly, the uncertainty is worse than knowing. Anyone else in a similar boat? What's the vibe on your floor?

Seriously considering jumping ship - this place is a mess!

I'm so done. Been at Boeing for 12 years, and it's just a constant cycle of reorgs, cost-cutting, and general chaos. The 'stairway' initiative? A joke. My team is constantly understaffed, and the pressure to deliver is insane. My mental health is in the toilet. Honestly, the only thing keeping me here is the (relatively) decent pay and benefits. But I'm starting to think it's not worth it anymore. Anyone else feeling this way? I'm seriously considering just throwing in the towel and finding something less soul-crushing. I'm in supply chain, btw. Thinking about moving into project management, somewhere, anywhere, that doesn't feel like this.

Severance package - what to expect?

Okay, hypothetical question (but also maybe not so hypothetical, given the current climate). What does Boeing typically offer in terms of severance? I'm a level 4 engineer in BCA, been with the company for 5 years. Trying to get a sense of what I might be looking at if the worst happens. Is it weeks per year of service? Is there continued healthcare? Any info is appreciated. Also, any tips on negotiating a better package? Never been through this before and feeling pretty anxious.

Heard whispers of a RIF in BDS... anyone else?

I'm hearing rumblings about a potential Reduction In Force (RIF) in Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS). I'm on the engineering side, specifically working on some of the satellite programs. Been here for almost 8 years and honestly, the last few have been... shaky. Anyone else hearing similar things in their departments? Specifically curious about people in Phantom Works. My manager clammed up when I asked directly, which makes me think something is definitely brewing. Just trying to mentally prepare myself, you know?

Just freaking RANTING... So tired of the uncertainty!

I am so DONE with this constant anxiety! Seriously, every quarter it's the same freaking song and dance. Layoff rumors, cost-cutting initiatives, 'restructuring'...it never ends! I've been with Boeing for 5 years, in the IT department, and I feel like I'm constantly walking on eggshells. You can't plan your life, can't invest in your future, because you're always wondering if you'll have a job next month. The higher-ups rake in millions while the rest of us are stressed out of our minds. I know I should probably update my resume, but honestly, I'm just too exhausted. Just needed to vent. Thanks for listening (or reading, I guess).

Severance Package Question - What to Expect?

Hypothetically speaking, if Boeing were to announce layoffs, what kind of severance package could a person with 12 years at the company expect? I'm in supply chain and heard some concerning things from a friend in HR. Never been laid off before so I'm totally clueless. Number of weeks based on tenure? Continued benefits? Outplacement services? I'm trying to get a handle on what I might be facing if the worst happens. Any insight or past experiences shared would be much appreciated. Just trying to be prepared.

Whispers of RIF in BDS? Hearing things after the earnings call...

Anyone else hearing rumblings about a possible RIF (Reduction in Force) in Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS)? I'm in engineering on the satellite programs side, and the mood has been weirdly tense since the last earnings call. My manager has been acting strangely, super vague about future projects and deliverables. Normally he's pretty transparent. I've been here almost 8 years and seen smaller cuts before, but this feels different. No official announcements, just lots of closed-door meetings and nervous energy. Could be nothing, but I'm starting to dust off my resume just in case. Anyone else experiencing this or have any insights?
