Heard whispers of a RIF in BDS... anyone else?

I'm hearing rumblings about a potential Reduction In Force (RIF) in Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS). I'm on the engineering side, specifically working on some of the satellite programs. Been here for almost 8 years and honestly, the last few have been... shaky. Anyone else hearing similar things in their departments? Specifically curious about people in Phantom Works. My manager clammed up when I asked directly, which makes me think something is definitely brewing. Just trying to mentally prepare myself, you know?

I'm in a different BDS division, but the mood here is definitely anxious. Headcount reductions have been a recurring theme for a while now. Eight years is a good chunk of time, though. Start updating your resume and passively looking. It's always better to be prepared than caught off guard. Even if it's just rumors, having options never hurts. Maybe discreetly reach out to some recruiters.

Phantom Works here. Heard nothing specific about a RIF, but there's been a noticeable slowdown in new projects coming through. Could be seasonal, could be something more. Honestly, my manager is always tight-lipped, so that's not saying much. I'm taking the rumors with a grain of salt until I see something concrete. People love to speculate and stir the pot, especially when things are slow.
