The outsourcing strategy is accelerating

It’s not just the factory floor anymore. I’ve seen multiple teams in finance and support functions basically being told to train their replacements overseas. They’re framing it as 'operational efficiency,' but we all know it’s just a race to the bottom on labor costs. You can’t tell me that offshoring critical support functions to India is going to solve our quality control issues. If anything, the communication gaps are just going to create more bottlenecks and errors. Management is obsessed with cutting the bottom line to make the quarterly report look better, but they’re sacrificing the long-term stability of the company. It’s incredibly demoralizing to watch people who have given 10-15 years to Boeing be pushed out so they can save a few bucks on salaries. Has anyone actually seen a plan for how we’re supposed to maintain quality during this transition, or is the strategy just 'hope for the best'?

It's a textbook case of short-term gains eating the long-term foundation. When you prioritize spreadsheets and quarterly targets over the institutional knowledge held by the people who actually know how these planes are built, you are setting yourself up for failure. Outsourcing critical functions isn't just a cost-cutting measure; it’s an erosion of the engineering culture that made the company great. Watching them gut support teams while pretending it’s about 'efficiency' is insulting to everyone who has put years into the company. The quality issues will only compound as the institutional memory walks out the door.
