Are we being gutted for the sake of the stock price?

It’s genuinely depressing to watch what’s happening at Boeing right now. Every few weeks, it’s another group, another department, another thousand people out the door. We keep hearing about 'realignment' and 'optimizing the workforce,' but it’s becoming obvious that there’s no long-term plan here other than slash and burn to keep the investors happy for another quarter. I talk to people from different programs and nobody knows what the end state is supposed to look like. Are we actually going to be able to build anything when this is all over? I feel like we’re losing institutional knowledge that we’ll never get back. The people getting forced out are the ones who actually know where the bodies are buried and how to fix the mess on the floor. If you're still here, make sure your resumes are polished and you’ve saved copies of your performance reviews offline. This ship is leaking, and it doesn't look like anyone on the bridge has a bucket.

It is honestly heartbreaking to see a legacy company with such a rich engineering history being cannibalized this way. The focus has shifted entirely from safety and innovation to short-term financial engineering. When you prioritize the stock price over the quality of your product and the stability of your workforce, you aren't just hurting the employees; you are eroding the very foundation of the company. The culture of excellence is being replaced by a culture of bean-counting, and it is clear that leadership is more interested in satisfying Wall Street than in actually building planes that lead the industry.

I have been with the company for over a decade, and the current atmosphere is absolutely toxic. The endless rounds of layoffs aren't just about efficiency; they are about stripping away the talent that actually keeps these planes in the air. Management talks about lean operations, but we are just running on fumes at this point. Nobody trusts the vision anymore because there isn't one—it is just reacting to quarterly expectations. Watching us hollow out our internal expertise while outsourcing critical components is a recipe for disaster. We are losing our soul to keep the share price afloat.
